1.1 This specification covers the chemical, mechanical, and metallurgical requirements for the manufacture of wrought 18chromium-14nickel-2.5molybdenum stainless steel in the form of surgical fixation wire. 1.2 Units— The values stated in either SI units or inch-pound units are to be regarded separately as standard.
