This powerpoint presentation begins by providing a brief overview of the Sacramento Suburban Water District (SSWD) and the current status of the water resources in Northern California. SSWD's water supply sustainability
challenges are presented and include the following:
balance conjunctive use costs with rate impacts;
uncertainty of projected demands;
regional contamination plumes; and,
long-term decline (overdraft) of groundwater. The Master Plan is presented as addressing the following issues: it estimates a sustainable
groundwater pumping target for SSWD; it develops a sustainable
conjunctive use plan to meet SSWD's needs; and, it estimates SSWD available
excess groundwater pumping capacity. The SSWD Water System Master Plan
decision-making process is presented. Includes figures.
