1. ScopeZ240.0.2-1.1 This Standard applies to recreational vehicles as defined in the CSA Z240 RV Series on recreational vehicles. It also gives general safety requirements that are not covered by the other Standards in the Z240 RV Series.1.2 This Standard and the Z240 RV Series of Standards do not apply to park model trailers, which are addressed by CSA Standards CAN/CSA-Z241 Series.Z240.1.2-1.1 This Standard sets out vehicular requirements for recreational vehicles, except motor homes.1.2 This Standard provides requirements for couplings, tongue or A- frame, vehicular lighting (for slide-in campers only), glazing materials, and running gear of recreational vehicles.1.3 This Standard includes performance tests for the following: (a) coupling strength; (b) photometric and mechanical performance of lighting equipment; (c) optical and strength properties of glazing material; and (d) service brake performance.1.4 Recreational vehicles manufactured to this Standard are required to c omply with the applicable provisions of the Transport Canada publication MVSR. Where the Standard is at variance with the MVSR, the latter takes precedence.1.5 Cargo transportation space that is an integral part of the recreational vehicle and that is intended or provided for the transportation or storage of livestock, vehicles (including motorcycles), snow machines, or water craft is not prohibited by th is Standard.Z240.3.2-1.1 This Standard sets the minimum installation requirements and material standards for plumbing systems in recreational vehicles.1.2 This Standard is not intended as a design specification or an instruction manual for untrained persons.Z240.4.2-1.1 This Standard applies to the factory installation of propane appliances, accessories, and equipment in recreational vehicles. For other measures, the values given in SI (metric) units are the standard, and the valu es given in parentheses are for information only.Z240.6.2/C22.2 No. 148-1.1 This Standard sets out the electrical requirements for recreational vehicles that are intended to be connected by a cord and attachment plug to a source of electrical supply not exceeding 250 V between conductors or 150 V to ground in accordance with rules of the Canadian Electrical Code, Part I.1.2, This Standard does not apply to (a) park model trailers conforming to CSA Standard CAN/CSA-Z241 Series; or (b) the 6 or 12 V battery-operated vehicular lighting and brake wiring systems that are described in CSA Standard Z240.1.2, provided that the conductors of this system are not in contact or cannot come in contact with the conductors of the higher voltage system.1.3 The requirements of this Standard are based on CSA Standard C22.1, Canadian Electrical Code, Part I.
