This standard addresses the testing requirements for internetwork connections employing Common Channel Signaling (CCS) based on Signaling System No. 7 (SS7) protocol used in North America. The internetwork connection 5 be either within or between North American countries. This standard provides a list of test scripts for testing compatibility between the interconnecting networks of the Message Transfer Part (MTP), level 2 and level 3, of the SS7 protocol. MTP level 1 tests are not included here because they are transmission tests in nature and not related to the SS7 protocol. This standard references material in ANSI T1 SS7 protocol standards.
