Presentation summary includes the following: climate change over the 21st century will likely affect distribution system water quality in areas of disinfection residual control, increased disinfection byproduct (DBP) formation, corrosion control, and nitrification control; climate change has the potential to affect seasonal distribution system water quality in areas such as water temperature, salinity (in tidal influenced sources), disinfection byproducts, and taste and odor related parameters; and, adaptation to climate change should be considered to maintain distribution system water quality related to effectiveness of flushing program, effectiveness of corrosion control program, and optimization of disinfectant-DBP control strategies.
