This powerpoint presentation provides background information on horizontal directional drilling with ductile iron pipe/high density polyethylene (HDPE) pipe.
Design considerations,
technology options, and
construction phase are presented.
Conclusions were that: Ductile Iron by HDD installation, may not be
suitable for tight areas;
Bending properties of HDPE was better suited
for the 2 locations;
Met permit and design requirements; and,
Ira Township ended up with 4 out 6 crossings
with DIP by converting to Jack and Bore. Includes tables, figures.
