Points out that improper control of the minimum ventilation rate in buildings has been cited as a possible cause of sick building syndrome. The control of the minimum ventilation rate in buildings is more difficult if the primary air handling systems are variable air volume (VAV) systems. States there are some 'accepted' methods of control of the minimum ventilation rate that need to be reviewed to determine if they truly control to the accuracy the industry expects.
