This standard applies to the construction, care, and use of single- and multiple-spindle automatic bar and chucking machines in which all tool movement is controlled by the machine.Excluded from the requirements in this standard are: lathes; engine lathes; toolroom lathes; vertical-shaft lathes; copy/tracer lathes; gap and sliding-gap lathes; and combination lathes.
