The Research and Service Foundation, College of Architecture, Arizona State University has provided professional thermal performance testing of air solar collectors for the past several years. Recently, that work has been done in compliance with the ASHRAE 93-77 standard. [1] The standard has had a positive and dramatic impact upon unifying the testing procedures and more importantly upon the data presentation format. However, as with any new standard, a few minor improvements could be made. The central thrust of this paper is to identify where and how the improvements should be made.
