本规范规定了武器系统承包商为创建交互式电子技术手册（IETM）而构建的交互式电子技术说明书数据库（IETMDB）的要求。这些要求涵盖了IETMDB的规范，旨在适用于合同中规定的两种模式中的一种或两种:a.将交付给政府的数据库的交换格式；和/或b.承包商为创建IETM而创建和维护的数据库元素的结构和命名，这些IETM又交付给政府。

This specification prescribes the requirements for an Interactive Electronic Technical Manual Database (IETMDB) to be constructed by a weapon-system contractor for the purpose of creating Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETM). These requirements cover the specification for the IETMDB and are intended to apply to one or both of two modes as specified in a contract: a. The interchange format for the database to be delivered to the Government; and/or b. The structure and the naming of the elements of the database created and maintained by the contractor for purposes of creating IETMs which are in turn delivered to the Government.
