The goal of this research project was to provideASHRAE with increased expertise it currently maintains in providing designguidance for commercial kitchen ventilation systems, to obtain a betterunderstanding on the effectiveness of UVC systems on commercial cookingeffluent and to establish an accurate, effective and economical method of testfor the evaluation of the UVC effectiveness, aiming at firm research-sidegrounds toward next standard building codes and regulations within thefoodservice industry.
