该标准明确了ITS站[ITS站（ITS-S）]应用程序进程在ITS站设备[ITS站unit（ITS-SU）]中为支持ITS-S通信配置文件的自动选择，为ITS-S管理提供的通信服务参数，并规定了在较高功能级别上ITS-S通信配置文件选择过程的相关程序。此外，还提供了用于估计最佳ITS-S通信配置文件的目标实例。

이 표준은 ITS 스테이션[ITS station(ITS-S)] 애플리케이션 프로세스가 ITS 스테이션 장치[ITS station unit(ITS-SU)]에서 ITS-S 통신 프로파일의 자동 선택을 지원하기 위해 ITS-S 관리에 제공하는 통신 서비스 매개변수를 명시하고, 상위 기능 수준에서 ITS-S 통신 프로파일 선택 프로세스에 대한 관련 절차를 규정한다. 또한, 최적의 ITS-S 통신 프로파일을 추정하는데 사용되는 목표 사례를 제공한다.
