本标准的目的是建立用符合美国国家标准的仪表测量架空电力线路无线电噪声辐射的统一程序。统一的程序是比较各种架空电力线无线电噪声性能的先决条件。该程序适用于0.015至30 MHz的频率范围。还介绍了在20至1000 MHz频率范围内进行测量的程序，该程序仅用作指南。

The purpose of this standard is to establish uniform procedures for the measurement of radiation of the radio-noise from overhead power lines with meters that confirm to American National Standards. A uniform procedure is a prerequisite to comparisons o f radio-noise performance of various overhead power lines. The procedure applies in the frequency range of 0.015 to 30 MHz. A procedure for measurements in the frequency range of 20 to 1000 MHz, which is to be used only as a guide, is also presented.
