U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) included:
7.8 M earthquake lasting for >90 s on
southern San Andreas Fault on Nov. 13,
2009, spanning the area from the
Salton Sea to Gorman with
numerous >7.0 aftershocks;
communications and utilities disrupted;
numerous roads and bridges damaged and
blocked; and,
>1600 fires. The GG08 exercise is presented and includes:
state and federal functional exercise 9/4/08;
two-day field, full-scale exercise (FSE) response on
Nov 13 - 14, 2008, 24/7;
seven operational areas (counties);
all three state regions - southern, inland and coastal;
