BS 09/30179109 DC is intended to be applied to safety-related systems that include one or more E/E systems and that
are installed in series production passenger cars with a max gross weight up to 3,5 t. BS 09/30179109 does not
address unique E/E systems in special purpose vehicles such as vehicles designed for drivers with disabilities.
Systems developed prior to the publication date of BS 09/30179109 are exempted from the scope.BS 09/30179109 DC addresses possible hazards caused by malfunctioning behaviour of E/E safety-related systems
including interaction of these systems. It does not address hazards as electric shock, fire, smoke, heat,
radiation, toxicity, flammability, reactivity, corrosion, release of energy, and similar hazards unless directly
caused by malfunctioning behaviour of E/E safety-related systems.BS 09/30179109 DC does not address the nominal performance of E/E systems, even if dedicated functional
performance standards exist for these systems (for example active and passive safety systems, brake
systems, ACC).BS 09/30179109 DC specifies the requirements for supporting processes. These include
interfaces within distributed developments, overall management of safety requirements, configuration
management, change management, verification, documentation, qualification of software tools, qualification of
software components, qualification of hardware components, and proven in use argument.Cross References:ISO 10007:2003ISO 16949ISO 26262-1ISO 26262-2ISO 26262-3ISO 26262-4ISO 26262-5ISO 26262-6ISO 26262-7ISO 26262-9IEC 61508ISO 16750IEEE Std 830:1998ISO 15504All current amendments available at time of purchase are included with the purchase of this document.
