This paper will present a synopsis of the laboratory efforts at the University of Massachusetts Lowell to teach the topics of Design for quality (DFQ). The DFQ curriculum materials were taught to engineering students at the freshman and the senior years and were funded by the Engineering Academy of Southern New England (EASNE). The paper will discuss the laboratory materials developed and the relationship between the lecture and the laboratory portions of the instructions. In addition, the evaluation criteria for the curriculum will be examined as well as feedback from students.
