This slide presentation outlines four phases of a study on corrosion control activities by the Tampa Water Department. Phase One involved: review by panel of experts;
find immediate solution;
find long term solution; and,
conduct bench-scale pipe tests. Phase Two involved: evaluate impact of dissolved oxygen, with new ozonation process to be added; and,
evaluate the effect of inhibitors. Phase Three involved: numerous pump failures; failure of high service pump; and,
problems with 40 service flow meters. Phase Four involved: evaluate flow meter problems;
re-evaluate CCPP guidelines;
develop computer algorithm for CCPP;
provide scenario planning for CCPP; and,
integrate CCPP input with SCADA data.
