In this article nine water agencies and one water education organization were informally surveyed to ascertain the value, variety, and goals of school education programs. The article outlines different aspects of youth education, including: the differences between youth education and public education; new curriculum frameworks that offer greater opportunity for the teaching of water related material; building partnerships to improve public education; how agencies evaluate their youth education programs and justify the expense; and, the pitfalls of youth education.
