It is the third edition of NMX-J-536-ANCE, the second edition of CSA C22.2 No. 83.1, and the ninth edition of UL 797. This edition of CSA C22.2 No. 83.1 supersedes the previous edition published in 2004. This edition of UL 797 supersedes the previous edition published June 30, 2004. This harmonized standard has been jointly revised on March 30, 2021. For this purpose, CSA Group an d UL are issuing revision pages dated March 30, 2021, and ANCE is issuing a new edition dated March 30, 2021.This standard has been developed in compliance with Standards Council of Canada requirements for National Standards of Canada. It has been published as a National Standard of Canada by CSA Group.Scope:1.1These requirements cover electrical metallic tubing - steel (EMT) and elbows for use as a metal raceway for installation of wires and cables in accordance with CSA C22.1,Canadian Electrical Code, Part 1, NOM-001-SEDE,Standard for Electrical Installations, and NFPA 70,National Electrical Code(see Reference Item No. 1, Annex A). EMT is provided with a zinc, zinc-based, nonmetallic, or other alternate corrosion-resistant exterior coating and an organic or zinc interior coating.
