SPRAYABLE HOT MELT ADHESIVES CAN REPLACE SOLVENT-BASED SYSTEMS TRADITIONALLY USED TO BOND FOAM AND OTHER MATERIALS. THESE ADHESIVES ARE 100% SOLIDS, THEREFORE, VOCS ARE REDUCED. A CLASS OF SPRAYABLE HOT MELTS HAS BEEN FORMULATED WHICH OFFER EXTENDED OPEN TIME TO ALLOW ADEQUATE ASSEMBLY TIME IN MANUFACTURING OPERATIONS. SPRAYING REDUCES THE APPLICATION TEMPERATURE OF THE ADHESIVE SO THAT THEY MAY BE USED ON THERMALLY SENSITIVE SUBSTRATES. BY COMBINING EQUIPMENT WHICH HAS BEEN DESIGNED TO SPRAY HOT MELTS WITH SPRAYABLE ADHESIVES WITH LONG OPEN TIMES, THE USER CAN REDUCE VOCS IN PLANT EMISSIONS WITH NO PRODUCTIVITY OR PROFITABILITY REDUCTIONS.
