Many agencies of the military services provide weather data and climatological support to the engineering community. This paper gives an overview of the general support provided by the Air Weather Service, the Naval Oceanography Command, and the Army engineering laboratories, but it speaks mainly to the specific support provided by the Engineering Meteorology Section of the United States Air Force Environmental Technical Applications Center, or USAFETAC. Many aspects of support to Air Force engineers and the Army Corps of Engineers are covered. Support to heating and air conditioning engineers is stressed by describing the evolution of AFM 88-29, Engineering Weather Data. Current projects, and those recently completed, are described in some detail. Expected changes in support are outlined. In all cases, the emphasis is on the changes in engineering meteorology support that have taken place since June 1966.Units: I-P
