Various experts have suggested lists of infectious agents or their toxins aspotential candidates for bioterrorism. These lists are based on the assumptionthat the organisms would be delivered by airborne dissemination, and would causemass casualties. The potential for bioterrorist attacks upon food production andsupply have received much attention; however, the risk of bioterrorism affectingpublic drinking water supplies has been ignored until recently.
