Exploratory research on the possibilities of ultrafiltration for the purification of Amsterdam Rhine Canal Water was carried out with a Quick-Scan study with four different UF-modules. The results of this study have shown that UF is technically feasible. The best UF performances are achieved with in-line coagulation. However the phosphate removal to the guide level was not obtained, a better control of the ferric chloride dosage would most likely solve this problem. The study also determined the most suitable UF membrane. Includes 3 references, figures.
