This slide presentation outlines urban water conservation along the Rio Grande in Texas. Rio Grande Urban Water
Conservation Study Goals included:
Phase I, identify urban water
conservation practices currently used; and,
inventory practices in cities. Study Goal II included: Phase II, determine acceptability of
water conservation practices; and,
measure preference, feasibility and barriers. Study Goal III included:
Phase III, identify urban water
conservation drought plans, triggers, drought stages, and
water conservation strategies. Study methods used in Phase II included:
use of prior inventory data and current
literature to identify
water conservation strategies,
barriers to water conservation,
develop survey using likert-type scale and
identify decision makers.
