This paper chronicles the development of and the first year and a half of offering courses in a manufacturing engineering bachelor's degree program. The program was designed to meet the specific needs of manufacturers in the western Michigan area where it is offered. The program?a joint effort of Western Michigan University, Muskegon Community College, and local industry?is offered exclusively at one of the university's regional centers located on a community college campus. The effort of the different partners during this time are reported, as are some of the lessons learned.
