This powerpoint presentation begins by providing a brief overview of Ontario's framework for lead testing before Spring
2007. Elevated lead in London, Ontario, is presented, along with
the case for action,
Ontario's new regulatory requirements for
flushing and testing in schools, private
schools and day nurseries; and,
community lead testing program.
Lessons learned include the following:
learning curve for 11,000 newly-regulated
facilities, existing regulated community and MOE;
IT challenges associated with integrating large
number of new data points into existing systems;
required significant time for changes to
business processes (eg. new forms, protocols
and procedures); and,
new issues associated with taking samples in
