A central 10 mgd wastewater treatment plant for Reedy Creek Improvement District (Florida) is being modified to implement biological nutrient removal and install filters with denitrification capability. These modifications will increase the plant capacity to 15 mgd. A reuse system is being installed to supply irrigation, washdown, and cooling water throughout the property. This paper describes the advanced wastewater reclamation program, pilot testing and results (nutrient removal, RO feedwater characteristics, microfiltration (MF) unit operations, and residual quantity and quality).
