该标准规定了ISO3833规定的决定大型商用连接车辆横向稳定性的试验方法。其中包括卡车和中心-轴（centre axle）拖车连接车辆和折射巴士。该标准适用于超过3.5吨的卡车和拖车，以及超过5吨的公交车，即根据92/53/EEC属于N2、N3、O3、O4和M3类别（category）的车辆。这里规定的行驶方式虽然不能完全代表实际行驶条件，但可以用于决定大型连接车辆的横向稳定性。

이 표준은 ISO 3833에 규정하는 대형 상용 연결 차량의 횡방향 안정성을 결정하는 시험 방법에 대하여 규정한다. 여기에는 트럭과 센터－액슬(centre axle) 트레일러 연결 차량과 굴절 버스가 포함된다. 이 표준은 3.5톤을 초과하는 트럭과 트레일러, 그리고 5톤을 초과하는 버스, 즉 92/53/EEC에 따른 N2, N3, O3, O4 및 M3 범주(category)에 속하는 차량에 적용한다. 여기서 규정하는 주행 방식은 실제 주행 조건을 완전히 대표하지는 못하지만 대형 연결 차량의 횡방향 안정성을 결정하는 데 유용하게 사용할 수 있다.
