This powerpoint presentation begins by providing a brief overview of study objectives that included: anticipate potential changes of water
availability and water quality at the
principal intake of the City of
Montreal (650 MGD) located in the
St. Lawrence River; and,
assess potential impacts on the
design/performance of the
DesBaillets/Atwater water treatment
plants, the two largest facilities
supplying the City of Montreal. The impacts of climate change and consequences for the water treatment plant (WTP) design on water quality are presented, along with treatment objectives including: reduce the microbiological
risk; reduce the chemical risk; and, aesthetics. Includes tables, figures.
