This powerpoint presentation begins by presenting the problem description that included: issues with accumulated particulate matter (e.g. discolored water); minimizing amount of particulate matter in distribution systems (DS) (e.g. flushing); determining which pipes were affected by deposits; and, modeling of particle motion behavior and prediction of deposits/water quality in DS. An overview of the DS is provided, along with particle related processes, dynamic water quality modeling, and model application. Includes reference, figures.
