该标准规定了为保护使用烹饪室连帽、管道、油炸容器、油脂的烹饪器具而设计的订单式灭火系统（pre-engineed firebration system）的设计、试验和运行。用于订单式灭火系统的装置应按照规定的形式、设计、尺寸及布置制作，并满足零部件性能要求。该标准还提供了组件测试和评估的最低要求条件。如果灭火装置的特点、特性、部件、材料或系统与该标准规定的不同或新制作，或可能造成火灾危险、电击或伤害，应对附加部件及最终产品进行评估。

이 표준은 조리실의 후드, 덕트, 튀김용기, 유지(grease)를 사용하는 조리 기구를 보호하기 위한 주문 형 소화 시스템(pre-engineered fire extinguishing system)의 설계, 시험, 작동에 대해 규정한다. 주문형 소화 시스템에 사용되는 장치들은 규정된 형식, 설계, 크기 및 배치에 따라 제작해야 하고 부 품 성능 요구사항을 충족해야 한다. 이 표준은 또한 구성품의 시험 및 평가에 관한 최소 요구조건을 제공한다. 소화장치의 특징, 특성, 부품, 재료 또는 시스템이 이 표준에서 규정한 것과 다르거나 새로 제작되는 경우 또는 화재 위험, 전기 충격이나 상해를 입힐 수 있는 경우에는 추가 부품 및 최종 제품에 대한 평가를 실시해야 한다.
