Ireland is a small island country on the West coast of Europe. Over the years there has been considerable emigration from Ireland to all parts of the world, and many of these emigrants made their mark on the industrial face of their countries of adoption. In recent years there has been a major industrial expansion in both Northern and Southern Ireland. This required the development and implementation of an educational and training system geared toward the revision of qualified personnel for the country's new manufacturing industries. These educational development are described in the paper.
